1. Bar Graphs

📊 Reading Bar Graphs

Bar graphs use bars to compare different categories. The taller the bar, the larger the value! They make it easy to see which category has the most or least.

Title

Tells what the graph is about

Example: "Favorite Ice Cream Flavors"

Labels

Show categories and scale

X-axis: categories, Y-axis: numbers

Bars

Each bar represents one category

Height shows the value

Scale

Numbers on the side (Y-axis)

Helps you read exact values

💡 Reading Tip: To find a value, look at the top of the bar, then follow a line to the scale on the left!

📝 How to Make a Bar Graph

Step 1: Draw two lines (axes) - one horizontal, one vertical

Step 2: Label the bottom with categories

Step 3: Label the side with numbers (scale)

Step 4: Draw bars for each category

Step 5: Add a title

🎯 Comparing Data

Bar graphs make it easy to compare! Just look at which bar is tallest (most) or shortest (least). You can also see the difference between categories at a glance!
